ICAB-United Kingdom was founded by His Holiness. Patriarch Dom Luis Castillo-Mendez of the Igreja Catolica Apostolica Brasileira.
We share communion directly with the Patriarch.
Archbishop John Simmons had elected Fr David Bell as a Roman Catholic Bishop Pre Vatican II on the 14th January 2003 for the Independent Catholic Church in Great Britain, but unfortunately the late Archbishop Simmons died of a ruptured Aorta in theatre at St Thomas Hospital, London.
Archbishop David was appointed by His Holiness as the Primus of the Igreja Catolica Apostolica Brasileira UK-Australia for the Brazilian Catholic Apostolic Church(ICAB) and appointed Secretary of Doctrine & Faith of the Brazilian Patriarchate.
All of the priests and bishops was consecrated as Bishop's of the Roman Catholic Church Pre-Vatican II for the ICAB -UK, the church continues under the Episcopal care of Archbishop Bell.
Since the sudden death of the late Archbishop John Simmons in 2003, Father Bell continued as parish priest (legal chancellor of the church) with two thriving congregations.
Archbishop David Bell was consecrated by His Holiness, Patriarch Dom Luis Castillo Mendez in the Cathedral Church in Brazil, he was assisted by two fellow catholic bishop’s.
ICAB-UK has always used the Tridentine Rite and the Pre Vatican II Roman Pontifical Rites and Ceremonies for all its ordinations/ consecrations.
We pray daily for the Pope of Rome, Patriarch of Brazil, Patriarch of Constantinople at Mass.
All of ICABUK Priests and Bishops carry Holy Orders of the Roman Catholic Church.
