BISHOP OF NASHIK. SPLXIII in India

Bishop Robin Mantode was born at Ashvi Khurd, Tal -: Sangamner, Dist-: Ahmednagar.Maharastra,India. Son of   Late Mr. Marshall Carlos Mantode and Anne Marshall Mantode.As a child he was brought in a religious atmosphere, his mother was a very pious person and always guided him spiritually. Specially his mother worked hard to look after the family.

1983 Fr.Robin joined Prakash Bhavan, minor seminary for Poona diocese, Maharastra, India, under the guidance of bishop Valerian Desouza.After completing the formation at the minor seminary and college study.

In 1986 he was sent to the Papal Seminary called as Papal Athenium, under Vatican, a philosophy and theological college where the students from all over the world come to study. At this institution Fr.Robin completed his Bachelor of Philosophy [Bph.] as well as Bachelor of Arts [B.A.] in 1989.During this period in the 1987 the Pune diocese was bifurcated and  the  new diocese of Nashik was inaugurated ,with Bishop Thomas Bhalerao S.J. as the Bishop of Nashik ,naturally Fr.Robin opted to work in the diocese of Nashik,a missionary diocese.

After the Bph degree Fr.Robin was sent to Ahmednagar district ,state of Maharastra for the mission work during the period of two years 1989-1990 father Robin preached the missions in the villages, taught in the schools, preached retreats and recollections in the missions, looked after the boarding school. After completing the period of mission experience in 1991 Fr.Robin was sent to St.Pius College, at Gogegaon, Mumbai to study Theology.

During the stay at St.Pius seminary Fr.Robin the theology degree as well as he obtained Diploma in Classical Indian Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti., Allahabad, Utter Pradesh, India He completed his Indian classical music course under the guidance of Fr. Vijayanand at Sangeet Sadhana Mandir, at Pachmarhi, Madhya Pradesh, India. During the study period Fr.Robin was invited in different parishes in Mumbai diocese and Vasai diocese to preach the Word of God and teach Indian classical liturgical music. Also Fr.Robin had a vast pastoral experience during the theology study and five years stay at St.Pius Seminary Goregaon, Mumbai, India.  

On 31st.August Fr.Robin  was ordained a deacon by Bishop Ferdinand Fanseca Auxiliary Bishop of Mumbai, India in the presence of fifty priests and many many people. After obtaining the bachelor of theology [B.Th.] Father Robin   spent few months as a diaconate ministry in the mission parish serving the people and visiting the villages  to preach missions, with Rev.Fr.Coelho Baba the priest who baptized Fr.Robin  as a  child. 

 On 13th.April 1996 Fr.Robin was ordained a Roman Catholic priest by the Most. Reverend Thomas Bhalerao, the Roman Catholic Bishop of Nashik,  at Christ the King Church, Ghodegaon, Ahmednagar Dist, Maharastra, India in the presence of more that 100 Roman catholic priests, hundreds of Nuns and more than 4000 people.

On 14th.April Father Robin celebrated his first Holy Eucharist at Ashvi Khurd  ,in the presence of many priests and people. After his ordination to the priesthood Fr. Robin served in different parishes according to the needs of the diocese.1996- first appointment as the assistant Parish Pastor at Catholic Ashram, Newasa, 1997 appointed as the assistant pastor at Sacred Heart Church, Songaon, Fr.Robin’s parish church of Baptism where he served for three years .In the year 2000 the bishop appointed Fr. Robin as the head of the pastoral and cultural centre.

In 2003 -2008 Fr. Robin was helping the Catholic Charismatic Renewal in India, since 2005 Fr. Robin is helping Brother Manuel Ministries. It was in 2006  Fr. Robin preached a retreat at Our Lady of Rosary Church, Doha, Qatar where he received the anointing of the Holy Spirit and since then God has been leading Fr. Robin all over India and even to many other countries like USA, ISRAEL, DUBAI, SHARJAH, SOUTH KOREA, AUSTRALIA, ABUDHABI  to preach the Word of God. Today Fr. Robin has communities different big cities in India  in which the people are a praying community rooted in the Word of God and the Holy Eucharist.     

1st.June 2008 Most Reverend Felix Machado, the Bishop of Nashik appointed Fr. Robin in the Bishop’s House to look after the official matters of the diocese as the PRO of the diocese; but left the diocese in the first week of June 08.

At present Fr. Robin is the Vicar for Christ for the SPLXIII in INDIA. He is a spiritual director for many preaching ministries in different cities in India. We have missions and prayer meeting  for the people of other faiths and Catholics and Christians. To our prayer meetings and missions lots of people of other faith come and they have are accepting Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We have mission in the main city of Mumbai ,Goa, Bangalore other states of India. We also have a government registered charitable trust called as "Sundralay" which means "the beautiful house of God" through this charitable trust we look after the orphanages, Home for the aged, food project for the hungry and help for the poor and the needy and the people of India recognize the presence of Jesus in the charitable work and they come to Jesus.
