Fr James trained in minor orders acolyte, exorcist, lector and porter in descending sequence including sub deacon and deacon before taking major orders in London, England. He has only ever been trained and used the Tridentine Mass / vespers in Latin. He was ordained after studying Theology. He is educated in civil, canon and ecclesiastical law.
He was a former NHS Mental Health nurse before taking up his vocation as a priest.
He was the former legal advisor / chancellor to the Archbishop in London and former Secretary of Doctrine & Faith to the late Archbishop Luis Fernando Castillo Mendez.

James Atkinson-Wake trained originally at 17 yrs of age as a A+E Nurse at Mansfield General Hospital before he went on to train in and as a Mental Health nurse for the NHS at Newstead Hospital. He left the NHS in 1993. He retrained and studied civil law before studying theology taking minor orders.
